Into the arms of Jesus

Sadly, baby Jacob has passed from this life at the age of 15 days.

His family has appreciated your prayers for him during this difficult time, and I am sure they will continue to need them for the perhaps, even more difficult days ahead.

Oh, Diane, I am so sorry to read this. There are no words to soothe the heart of a parent who has lost a child, and “I’m sorry” sounds so trite. The most wonderful book in the world for a parent who has lost a child is “Heaven is for Real”, written by Todd Burpo. His four year old son died in the middle of surgical procedure, and came back to describe sitting in Jesus’ lap, and what a wonderful place Heaven is. “And He really, REALLY loves little children.”

Jacob is no longer ill, and he is safe in the arms of his Eternal Big Brother. Let not your hearts be troubled.

The only comfort in a mother’s empty arms is knowing his Father has him in the most wonderful eternal place only one breath away. He now has the life that the Son of God sacrificed his own for him to have. Our hearts break because of our loss, but the loss is ours only. Little Jacob has been given the heavenly treasure of life for which we seek and struggle all our earthly lives…to be close to God at all times. It is bittersweet to rejoice in spirit and grieve in soul, but our children are never ours; we are entrusted with them only as long as it serves the Lord’s purpose, which we know not. May Jacob enjoy his life in all the splendor we cannot yet imagine and may his family find peace in their souls and rejoice in their spirit.
