I’ve missed my model

Number one thing to do today is pick up Amelia. She ended her cross-country jaunt at my parents’ house where she spent a few grueling days going to the opera, visiting Starbucks and getting a reportedly “jillion dollar” pair of Puma running shoes. Her nana is nothing if not generous… especially when it comes to classy duds of all kinds.

So, noon today I’ll meet my dad to transfer the girl. He’ll probably gruffly report that she’s a “good kid,” Noah and Millen will be giddy with glee and likely smother her with hugs and kisses (which she will receive with equal enthusiasm.) I’ll listen to her all the way home, inserting the occasional mmhmm, smile, giggle, guffaw, or Oh! My! on an as needed basis. It will be nice, and the hour and a half drive will go quickly. We might even stop for a coffee.

When we get home, Amelia will unpack and she might want to watch a bit of the program we’ve been enjoying this week. If she’s hungry she can have the black bean burger leftover from last nights’ dinner. Black bean burgers are her favorite. Later on we’ll drop the younger kids off at their father’s for the evening and Amelia and I will probably make a quick run to the department store. When we get home, she’ll be tired, but I plan on wheedling her into modeling a few of the covers I made whilst she was off cavorting around the country. I went kinda hog-wild with rick rack and bias trim while she was gone. I even made a coupla sets of mother-daughter veils, but I couldn’t put them in the shop because I didn’t have a model for the photographs. Oh yes, I’ve missed my model.

My model daughter, that is.

My apologies to those of you who have left such sweet comments on this post. There is a Blogger-glitch of some kind that has hidden all of the existing comments and disallowed new ones.
Just soze ya know… yanno?

Sounds like a lovely way to spend time with your "model". I am sure she will enjoy it too. I watched that program a few years back and really enjoyed it. The new head covers are very pretty….

The coverings arrived yesterday and I love them! I had to move the buttons over a smidge, but that was no problem. So much more attractive than tying a bandana over your head!
I'd like to leave you feedback on Etsy, but can't figure out how to do it. Hints?
Again, thank you. I'm a satisfied customer.

mrs rabe… don't all of us mamas love seeing our children come home♥

maura… me too! and me too!

linda… we are planning on watching the entire thing tomorrow. i'll be doing some sewing and amelia will be doing some lollygagging;-)

anon… i am absolutely thrilled that you liked the covers! as far as leaving feedback, when you go to "your etsy" page you will see in the lefthand column a selection called "feedback." if you click on that it will bring you to a page/form with all of your recent transactions listed. underneath each one is a little space for you to leave your thoughts. i'm so pleased that you want to leave feedback… it's such a help to a new shop like mine☺
