Number one thing to do today is pick up Amelia. She ended her cross-country jaunt at my parents’ house where she spent a few grueling days going to the opera, visiting Starbucks and getting a reportedly “jillion dollar” pair of Puma running shoes. Her nana is nothing if not generous… especially when it comes to classy duds of all kinds.
So, noon today I’ll meet my dad to transfer the girl. He’ll probably gruffly report that she’s a “good kid,” Noah and Millen will be giddy with glee and likely smother her with hugs and kisses (which she will receive with equal enthusiasm.) I’ll listen to her all the way home, inserting the occasional mmhmm, smile, giggle, guffaw, or Oh! My! on an as needed basis. It will be nice, and the hour and a half drive will go quickly. We might even stop for a coffee.
When we get home, Amelia will unpack and she might want to watch a bit of the program we’ve been enjoying this week. If she’s hungry she can have the black bean burger leftover from last nights’ dinner. Black bean burgers are her favorite. Later on we’ll drop the younger kids off at their father’s for the evening and Amelia and I will probably make a quick run to the department store. When we get home, she’ll be tired, but I plan on wheedling her into modeling a few of the covers I made whilst she was off cavorting around the country. I went kinda hog-wild with rick rack and bias trim while she was gone. I even made a coupla sets of mother-daughter veils, but I couldn’t put them in the shop because I didn’t have a model for the photographs. Oh yes, I’ve missed my model.
My apologies to those of you who have left such sweet comments on this post. There is a Blogger-glitch of some kind that has hidden all of the existing comments and disallowed new ones.
